Multifractal Characterization of Droughts in Türkiye

The KaruSphère laboratory contributed its expertise to the article entitled ” Multifractal characterization of meteorological droughts in Türkiye’s mediterranean region using visibility graph approaches “. The study investigates the multi-scale complexity of meteorological droughts (SPI, SPEI) across 24 stations (1970–2022) using visibility graph approaches (VG/UDVG). It highlights a pronounced multifractal structure—more marked for the SPEI, which incorporates evapotranspiration—and demonstrates that the UDVG framework enhances the detection of persistent low-amplitude droughts, thereby strengthening KaruSphère’s expertise in multifractal analysis applied to hydro-climatic risks and climate adaptation strategies.
