Atmospheric Pollution Dynamics Around Istanbul Airports

The KaruSphère laboratory contributed its expertise to the article entitled ” Quantitative assessment of meteorological and air quality variables using airport monitoring data: Istanbul International Airports “. The study analyzes the interactions between atmospheric pollutants and meteorological variables around Istanbul airports using Pearson and Spearman correlations, revealing positive relationships between temperature and SO₂ in summer and negative correlations between wind, cloud cover, and NOx in winter, while highlighting strong spatiotemporal variability—thus emphasizing the key role of meteorology in air quality modeling, in line with KaruSphère’s expertise in multi-scale environmental analysis.
